A 120 feet wide and 80 feet high hut is being built for Maa Durga in Dhanbad.
Md. Ikram/Dhanbad, Durga Puja, one of the most important festivals of Hindus, is only a month away. Attractive Puja Pandals have been erected in many places across the district including Dhanbad town. In this context, the Darga Puja pandal built at the Jharkhand grounds of Hirapur in the city is still quite popular.
This time pandal is being made by Satyam Shivam Sundaram Durga Puja Committee. It will be like a middleman’s hut or a temple. Which has become a topic of discussion in the area.
The cost of the pandal was Rs.12 lakhs.
Puja Committee is constructing 120 feet wide and 80 feet high Puja pandal. Where about 50 trucks have to be middlemen. Which is being collected from East Midnipur in West Bengal. Besides bamboo, beet and thermocouple are being used. A team of 33 artisans from Midnipur has been engaged in making the pandal since August 20. The price of pandal is coming to 12 lakh taka.
Durga Puja is being organized since 2000
Executive Chairman of Puja Committee Bikash Sao told Local 18 that Durga Puja is being organized here since 2000. Every year it is very famous throughout the city for its attractive Puja Pandals. Bhagwati Jagran should also be organized day and night during the Puja. A fair is also organized. which attracts children very much.
The Puja budget is Rs 20 lakhs
He said that the total budget of the puja is 20 lakh rupees. In this, 12 lakh pandals, 80 thousand idols and lights are being brought from Chandannagar for 1 lakh 70 thousand rupees. Apart from this, the cost of 51,000 puja items and food items will cost two and a half lakh taka. Apart from this there are also minor expenses. The statue is being made by local sculptor Tanmoy Pal.
