Divyang Park sheds tears at her plight
Seeing the plight of the country’s first disabled park for the disabled in the district hospital built with the idea of three countries is shedding tears. The park is dilapidated due to lack of maintenance. Dirt everywhere and algae in the fountain water. Due to this poor condition, the gate is now locked. The Divyang Feeling Park built in 2016 at Narmada Puram District Hospital premises was visited not only by the disabled but also by the general public.
Paintings on the walls of the park have been destroyed. Another water machine for the disabled is broken near the gate. Now nobody comes to this park.
Divyang Park was created from the idea of three countries
The idea of creating a park in the district hospital complex was taken from three countries. Canopies have been brought from Australia in this park modeled after the vertical garden in Israel. The canopy was erected to protect the plants and visitors from rain and sun. But the situation is such that now the canopy is completely damaged. A German xylophone was also installed for music.
30 lakhs for 10 thousand square feet
The park spread over 10,000 square feet was built at a cost of around Rs 30 lakh. Where half of the money has been raised through public participation. This park was built and prepared in one and a half years. The park has been designed keeping in mind the facilities of all types of disabilities. To enable the visually impaired to move around the park without barriers, a track was constructed using textile tiles and Braille script engraved on pipes.
