US Presidential Election: Indian-American Vivek Ramaswamy, who is in the race to become the Republican Party’s candidate in the US presidential election, said that Hindu faith gave him the freedom and motivation to participate in the race.
Ramaswamy said that if he were to become president, he would promote values that are not limited to any one religion and strengthen the values of religious faith, family, hard work and patriotism in America. Ramaswamy said this at the ‘The Family Leader Forum’ event organized on Saturday.
Technology entrepreneur Ramaswamy (38) spoke to the Christian audience during the event about his Hindu faith and how it instilled in him values similar to those of Christianity. He said, ‘It is my faith that gives me freedom… It is my faith that motivates me to participate in the presidential election.’

He said, ‘I am a Hindu. I believe that belief in God is a truth. God sent us here for a purpose. It is our duty to realize God’s purpose. A fundamental tenet of our religion is that God resides within us all.
