Good news coming from Gaza! The war between Hamas and Israel will stop

New Delhi. Hamas has agreed to a ceasefire with Israel. It is said that Israel will return the hostages subject to conditions. Hamas agreed to a ceasefire just before the start of the Israeli army’s ground offensive in Rafah. According to an official Hamas announcement, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh told Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani and Egypt’s intelligence chief Abbas Kamel that he accepted their terms for a ceasefire with Israel.

However, there is no word yet on what the conditions are. Recently, the US has been negotiating a three-phase proposal with Hamas through Egypt and Qatar, which Israel has given the green signal. According to experts, 33 hostages – women, children, old and sick – will be released in the first phase of the 40-day ceasefire. In return, Israel would release hundreds of Palestinian security prisoners.

Negotiations between Israel and Hamas will resume on the 16th day of the cease-fire to establish a permanent peace-restoration mechanism in Gaza in the second and third phases of the deal. In a second phase, all remaining prisoners would be released during an additional 42-day ceasefire in exchange for Israel releasing hundreds more security prisoners and the IDF withdrawing from Gaza.

The third and final phase of the deal will again last 42 days and will require Hamas to exchange the bodies of Palestinian security prisoners who were killed or died in captivity on October 7.
