It is the oldest school in Nainital, students from here have shown their talent in Olympics.

Tanuj Pandey/ Nainital: Nainital in Uttarakhand is known for its education system since the British period. The British built many schools here, which are still located in Nainital. Today we are going to tell you about the oldest school in Nainital. It was established as Mission School in 1850 during British rule.

During that period, mission schools were opened throughout Kumaon to promote English education. The purpose of this school was to provide education to Indians. Some people believed that the motive behind these schools was to spread Christianity. In 1908, the school was bought by a man named Humphrey and since then the school became known as Humphrey High School. Renowned historian Prof. Ajay Rawat says that the school popularly known as Humphrey High School was bought by Chetram Sah in 1928. In the same year the school was renamed CRST Inter College (Chetram Shah Thulgaria).

Prof. Rawat said that many administrative officers have received education from this school. Besides, many students studying here are going abroad to prove their mettle. CRST Inter College is one of the oldest schools in Nainital city. This school building is one of the historical buildings of the city.

National athletes and Olympians have also studied
Prof Rawat said that many national and international players have also studied at CRST Inter College. He said Rajendra Singh Rawat and Sajid Ali, who studied from here, participated in the Olympics at that time. Also, Narendra Singh Bisht and Lalit Sah, who studied here, played in the junior India team.
