But the Mahamaya Mata temple at Bouma Nagai in Bilaspur is considered very special from this point of view. This temple was built in the 12th century by the Raja of Ratanpur. A matter related to the establishment of Mata makes this temple special.

According to the belief, the king was taking the idol of Mata Mahamaya from Malhar to Ratanpur. Meanwhile, one of the wheels of the king’s chariot broke at Bauma Nagoi. After changing the wheel, night fell and the king decided to rest there. Then the mother told the king in a dream that his temple should be established in this place. Thus Mahamaya temple was established here.

People of the area have immense faith in Ma Mahamaya. Residents of the vicinity believe that Mother Mahamaya present here is the real form of Saraswati. Due to which the education rate in the village was good since ancient times. Apart from the local residents, devotees from far and wide come here for darshan.
