Congress wants to take away the rights of SCs, STs and OBCs and give them to Muslims – JP Nadda

New Delhi: BJP national president JP Nadda has launched a major attack on opposition parties, alleging that the Congress and the Indian Alliance want to take away the rights of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other backward classes in the country and give them to Muslims. He said that this is their hidden agenda and appeasement is also clearly visible in the Congress manifesto.

He said BJP does not want Muslims to be neglected, but Muslims should not get undue benefits at the cost of other communities. Nadda also said that the Congress says that Muslims have the first right over the country’s resources, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi says that the poor have the first right over the country’s resources.

Recalling the tenure of the UPA government, the BJP president said that the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, while addressing the National Development Council meeting in December 2006, made the statement of the first right of Muslims over wealth not by mistake but deliberately. While answering a question during a press conference in Mumbai in April 2009, Manmohan Singh again backed his statement and said that minorities, especially Muslims, should be given priority. Muslims should have the first right over the wealth of the country.

Terming the Sachar Committee report as a false statement, Nadda said that the condition of Muslims was worse than that of Dalits. This clearly means that the Congress had long ago conceived the idea that Muslims should somehow be declared Scheduled Castes and should be given benefits under the SC reservation.

The BJP president alleged that the Congress in its manifesto has said that there is no place for majority in the country, which means they have a strong hatred for SCs, STs and OBCs. Majority of the population of the country belongs to these poor people and this class. He said that Congress’ practice of taking away rights is very old. Jawaharlal Nehru was always in favor of Muslims. Nadda hit out at the Congress citing several measures taken to appease the Congress government at the Center and in various states.
